I. Background & Purpose
Amid the accelerated evolution of the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, and new energy technologies have become core competitive fields globally. As one of the most innovative and industrially dynamic regions in the world, the Asia-Pacific region urgently needs to build a future-oriented ecosystem for young scientists and engineers.
Against this backdrop, the 2027 Asia-Pacific University Frontier Technology Innovation Competition is jointly launched by the International Society for Energy Photonics and the Singapore Robotics Association.
This competition is committed to building a high-level platform that integrates frontier technology contests, international academic exchange, industry matchmaking, and achievement commercialization, aiming to promote:
- Global exchanges and collaboration among young technological talents
- Interdisciplinary integration and innovation in frontier technologies
- The translation of scientific research achievements into industrial applications
- The matchmaking of innovative projects with capital and enterprises
Core Objectives
- To become one of the most influential university technology competitions in the Asia-Pacific region
- To discover early-stage technology projects with industrial potential
- To build a collaborative innovation ecosystem involving “Universities – Research Institutions – Enterprises – Investment Institutions”

The Grand Final will be held in Singapore — a global hub for technology, finance, and innovation.
IV. Participants & Requirements
Target Participants
Full-time undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students from global universities, with no major restrictions. Interdisciplinary teams are strongly encouraged.
Team Format
- Each team: 2–5 members with 1 team leader
- International joint teams are welcome
- Each student may register for only one team
Project Requirements
- Innovative designs focusing on robotics, AI, and energy technologies
- Must demonstrate originality, technical innovation, and clear application scenarios
- Purely theoretical projects are discouraged
- Providing prototypes/demos/data validation is highly encouraged

- Submit project proposal + video presentation
- Remote expert review
🏆 Singapore Grand Final
Time: January – March 2027
Venue: Singapore (Conference Center / University Campus)
Format:
- Project Roadshow — 10 minutes
- Expert Q&A — 5 minutes
- Live Demo Showcase
Teams must prepare presentation slides and working prototypes. On-site academic and industry exchange activities will also be arranged to foster cross-disciplinary interaction.

IX. Important Notes
- All entries must be original and must not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others. Violations will result in immediate disqualification. Teams must sign an originality statement.
