Hong Liu is a professor at the State Key Laboratory of Crystal Materials, Shandong University, and the Institute for Advanced Interdisciplinary Research (iAIR), University of Jinan. He earned his PhD in 2001 from Shandong University (China). In 2009, he was honored as a Distinguished Young Scholar by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His current research primarily focuses on biosensors, tissue engineering, stem cell therapy, and photovoltaic functional nanomaterials. He holds over 40 patents and has published more than 400 papers, accumulating over 45,000 citations and boasting an H-index of 90. He has been recognized in Clarivate Analytics’ Highly Cited Researchers list from 2018 to 2023. In 2022, he launched a new journal, BMEMat, serving as its Editor-in-chief.
